Our Teachers

Mrs. Angela

My name is Angela McClure and I have been teaching for more than 16 years.  I have lived in Ellijay since 1992 and am originally from Dawson County.  My husband, Jeff McClure, and I have one son, Isom.

I received my Montessori degree from The United Montessori Association Teacher Certification Program. My undergraduate degree is from Piedmont College in Spanish and Psychology and I earned my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education at North Georgia College.  I also studied in Spain for eight weeks through the University of San Francisco.

I am dedicated to helping children develop positive self-esteem, independence and a love of learning. Please e-mail me if you have any questions!

Mrs. "K"
Ms. Donna

My name is Donna Kracker and I was introduced to Pleasant Hills Montessori School in 2004 as a private facilitator for a special needs child who attended the school with his four siblings. It was an amazing experience to see how children learn in this environment, especially a child with physical limitations.

My degree is in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. Prior to moving to Ellijay, I worked for a large corporation in their financial department and I also have a CPA license.

In 2005, Ms. Angela invited me to become a member of the staff. It has been on the job training for me since that first year with the school, so I am thankful to all my co-workers for teaching me so much and the children for doing the same.

Thank you for sharing your children with us. Each day brings new experiences, challenges and joys as we share in your child’s education and development.

Mrs. Pat

Hello, I am Pat Key. After 32 years experience at all levels of the educational ladder, from Pre-K to administration, I thought retirement was for me.  Alas, it was not to be.  I worked for the Appalachian Juvenile Court in Fannin, Gilmer and Pickens County as a child advocate for 6 years. Now, I am back in the classroom and am feeling revitalized and renewed by the Montessori Environment and especially the environment at Pleasant Hills Montessori School.

My educational credentials include Bachelor’s, Master’s and Educational Specialist degrees. My teaching experience covers a wide range including Language Arts, Social Studies, Special Education, Reading Specialist, Early Childhood and Pre-Kindergarten Education.

Thank you for letting me share in the adventure of education that you and your children are embarking on as the new school year begins.

Mrs.
Marie

I am Marie Dove, and I have had the privilege of teaching the fourth and fifth grades at Grace Christian School for nine years.  Beginning in the fall of 2009, I will be pursuing my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Reinhardt College.  While the excitement of going back to school is still fresh, I have been presented with the awesome opportunity of working with Angela McClure and the children at PHMS.  My area of outreach will be to guide the second and third grade students through their reading, writing, language, spelling, and math curriculum.

I believe education is the responsibility of parents, and PHMS is an excellent tool for parents to use in equipping their children for the future.  In the classroom, I see myself as an outreach of your family, and I am here to serve you and your children.

I have lived in Ellijay for sixteen years, and I have been married to Scott Dove (City of Atlanta and Gilmer Co. Fire/Rescue Depts.) for twenty-one fun-filled years.  We have three children ages 16, 14, and 12.  As a family, we enjoy our church, traveling, gardening, and sports.

Mrs.
Ginny

Hi! I am Ginny Hodges and I am originally from a small town in south Georgia called Thomasville. I am getting married in October of this year, so watch out for a name change! I have been working with children for 6 years, and can't imagine doing anything more fulfilling with my life!

Until recently, I have been living and teaching in the Atlanta area.
I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I have worked with children in many different age groups, including two-year-old-preschoolers through fifth graders!

I am from a BIG family in a small town, so I know how beneficial family
interaction can be in a child's learning environment. I encourage parents to come be a part of our classroom. I love working closely with families to provide the optimum experience for each individual child.

I am so excited to get the opportunity to be a part of such an innovative
and motivating school! There are some really great things going on at
Pleasant Hill Montessori!
